The ideal season for the Rupin Pass Trek is from May to June and September to October. During these months, you'll experience pleasant weather with clear skies and minimal chances of rain or snow blockage on the pass.

Rupin Pass sits at an impressive height of 15,280 feet (4,658 meters). Be prepared for the challenges of high-altitude trekking, such as altitude sickness.

The Rupin Pass Trek can be completed in 7 to 8 days, depending on the chosen route and trekking pace.

There are two common routes for the Rupin Pass Trek. One starts near Dhaula village in Uttarakhand and ends in Sangla, Himachal Pradesh. The other route starts from Jiskun near Rohru in Himachal Pradesh and ends in Sangla, Himachal.

You'll need a Permit to trek rupin pass. Permits for camping in national parks or wildlife sanctuaries along the trek also be necessary. Check with your trekking company or local authorities for specific requirements.

You'll typically stay in tents at designated campsites during the trek. Some companies might offer homestays wherever possible in villages along the route.

Rupin Pass Trek (Detailed Itinerary)

(Drive 215 km/ 8-9 Hrs)

Trekkers will be picked up from Dehradun railway station or ISBT bus stand at 7 AM. During the drive to Dhaula, you will come across eye-catchy sights. You will pass through the Mori village which is known for worshipping of Local deity Mahasu Devta.

Today you will be trekking for 9km but won’t get tired because the path is quite easy till Sewa. During trekking, you will come across apricot and apple trees and also a Kinnaur temple at Sewa. The night stay will be scheduled in tents at Sewa which will give you eye-catchy views of nature. 

Today the trek is going to be difficult, so get ready to experience some thrill & adventure. You will pass through dense forest and wooden bridge which is known by the name ‘No man’s Place’. During the trek enjoy Walnut & Deodar trees shade, while the night stay will be in tents at Bawta.

On Day 4, you will be crossing the highest & last village of the trek. Store some energy and get ready for the zig-zag path. Stay in tents at Jakha under the bright shining stars in the sky. 

Get up early in the morning and enjoy the attention-grabbing sunrise. You will come across Rupin waterfall as well as a beautiful U shaped valley. Explore the green & yellow meadows and after crossing the snow bridges you will reach Dandreyash Thatch valley. 

This day is going to be exciting because you will pass through rivulets of Rupin and thick snow. While crossing the bridge, Rupin water will hit your feet, giving a calm and serene feeling. 

  • The longest path of Rupin pass will start along with a steep gradient. After reaching Rupin pass gully be careful because the trail is not clearly defined as it is covered with thick snow. Although the path of Rupin Pass is short but is quite risky and adventurous at the same time. 

    Night stay will be scheduled in camps at Ronti Gad where you experience the coldest weather till now along with breathtaking views of mountains covered with snow.  

Trek – 11 km/6-7hrs

 Drive – 224km/8-9hrs

We will trek back to Sangla from Ronti gad with lots of amazing memories. You will reach Sangla by 2 pm, Take a taxi from Sangla at 3 pm and reach Shimla by midnight around 2 am (please make your Hotel booking at Shimla accordingly).
