It is located at an altitude of 14,245ft above sea level near the famous tourist city of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Indrahar Pass also outlines the border between Kangra as well as Chamba districts. Though the trek is short but a bit challenging because the trekking trail takes you through several sharp ascents and steep climbs as well. With time, Mcleodganj has turned out to be a famous hill station for tourists who are searching for a calm Himalayan town as well as its rich Buddhist culture. You can reach the town through numerous state government and private buses that connect Mcleodganj with different cities of India like Dharamshala, Delhi, Chandigarh, and others.  The trek goes to Triund which is popular for its scenic views because the point sits right over an elevation as a top meadow. The track from Triund takes you to Lahesh caves which is a beautiful architecture gifted by mother nature. You can take a break here and witness the amazing creation of nature.  This Indrahar pass will also give you a golden opportunity to witness the stunning view of the Pir Panjal Range of the central Himalayas on the north side and Mani Mahesh Kailash on the east side. The ascent to the Indrahar Pass involves continuous climb which further demands a good level of fitness. However, for both beginners and experienced trekkers, the Indrahar Pass trek is an easy trek. Indrahar Pass Trek (Detailed Itinerary)

On day 01, we will reach the base camp by 9:30 am, where all the trekkers will be briefed about the trekking and important details. After this, we will start the trek by 10 am. While trekking towards Triund, get ready to enjoy the walk through the mixed dense forest of Deodar and Oak trees.You will find that the first 2km of the trek involves a steep ascent but after Galu Devi temple, the ascent begins to get gradual. Although the trek to Triund is considered an easy hike but the last 1km is a steep ascent goes through the dense forest.Triund top is mainly a beautiful flat meadow that is located on the top of the ridge. At this point, you will get an enchanting view of the Kangra valley as well as a breathtaking sight of the Dhauladhar range on the other side. After reaching Triund, night stay for all the trekkers will be scheduled in tents and hot food will be served.

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy your delicious breakfast with the stunning view of the Himalayan mountains. Today, we will trek to Laka Got which is known to be the muzzle of a tiny glacier. During the early summer season, you can see the snow patches as you get approach Laka Got. You will find that the trail is full of steep ascent that takes you to a height of 11,480 ft. In order to trek this height, the time involved is 3-4 hours. However, with multiple stops, the duration can increase. Around the campsite, you will get the chance to enjoy some amazing snow activities, have a hot & healthy meal, and then ultimately rest in the camps and get ready for the next day. Make sure you rest properly because the next day is going to be long.

Start early in the morning because sometimes the weather gets bad till the afternoon. Within the early summer i.e., from April to May, the track is often filled with snow and ice, demanding the use of good equipment. During post-monsoon i.e., from September to November months, there is no snowfall or ice present on the track. Due to this reason, there is a narrow trail that rises towards the pass. In order to reach the Indrahar pass successfully, three to four hours time is involved. While another three hours time is involved in returning back. After reaching the pass, you can witness the Pir Panjal range of the central Himalayas which is sure to leave you stunned. On the same day, we will return back to Laka Got. Night stay will be scheduled at the campsite for all the trekkers. Also, a hot and delicious dinner will be served.

Day 04 is the last day of the trek. On this day, we will follow the same track to return back that we have trekked on the first and second day. A gradual trek of almost 4 hours will take you back to Mcleodganj. After reaching McLeod Ganj, this beautiful trek will come to an end. All the trekkers can get the tickets done for their hometown accordingly. In this way, your trip will come to an end with some sweet memories.
