In order to reach the Deo Tibba Base camp, you will cross several remote villages and valleys like Setan, Panduropa, Chikka, Hampta Pass, Raurikhaudi, Piyangniru, and many more. The trekking track is also going to take you through an old village known as Logidugh which is considered the home of Thakshag Nag and eighteen ‘Nag’ gods. It is a pleasant trek that takes you through the dense oak and deodar forested tracks as well as rolling pastures and meadowlands. Deo Tibba is a perfect mountain expedition that is endorsed by experienced trekkers who have apt technical knowledge. Keep one thing in your mind, this trek is not for trekkers at a beginner level. The best time to visit the Deo Tibba trek is during the months of May, June, September, and October. This is the best time to visit Deo Tibba base camp. It is always recommended to avoid this trek during the monsoon season as the place experiences heavy rainfall, leading to various issues like landslides, and roadblocks. Once you reach the top of the summit, the view from here is no less than a fairyland. The eye-catchy snow-capped mountain peaks are sure to take away all your burdens in a second. As per Hindu mythology, it is believed that the dome-shaped peak of Deo-Tibba is the place where the god sits. As a result, the name Deo means God and Tibba means hill. On the other hand, Lord Indra who is said to be the King of Heaven & Gods performs a meeting with them right from his seat i.e., at the Indrasen peak. Get ready to experience some difficult landscape on your way to the summit of this peak because it involves a rock fall area, steep ice passes, a ridge, and glaciers with gorges.Therefore, the main attraction of the Deo Tibba peak is the emerald blue waters of Chota Chandartal lake

Deo Tibba Base Trek (Detailed Itinerary)

The base for the Deo Tibba Base Camp trek for all the trekkers is planned at Manali. Early in the morning, trekkers need to report to Manali. We will pick up everyone from the Manali bus stand in the morning. After having breakfast and refreshments, we will drive to Khanol village via Jagatsukh village which will take almost an hour and a half. Trekkers will find the drive from Manali to Khanol very scenic and interesting at the same time. Our trek will start from Khanol which is a gradual ascending track through a dark pine forest. This trail will further take you to the first campsite of the trek i.e., Chikka. Get ready to enjoy different varieties of berries and flora on the entire trail. An eye-catchy sight of the Indrasen peak as well as Spiti valley is a real treat for your eyes.  Night stay is scheduled in the camp where you can enjoy a campfire and fun activities.

Get up early in the morning because the second day is going to be a bit challenging as it will take you through intense coniferous forests. The level of the thrill is going to increase because when you leave the stunning campsite of Chikka, the altitude gain is huge. We will trek from the path that runs beside the Jagatsukh river bank. The difficulty level of the trek here is moderate and includes a few easy as well as level walks along with lots of rises. In the trail, you will find a number of water sources, make sure to carry at least 2 liters of water.As you trek further, you will notice that altitude increases and the tree line begins to fall as we approach Seri. You need to know that Seri is an eye-catchy meadow that once housed a glacial lake but now is altered into a huge pasture with a variety of flowers and herbs as well. Retire and relax in the camps for the night and enjoy a hot-served dinner

After having a healthy and delicious breakfast at the Seri campsite, we will begin our day for the trek. The third day of the trek often involves a moderate level of difficulty along with steep as well as gradual ascents. We will leave behind the campsite of Seri and head towards the campsite of Tainta. The trek will start with an easy walk over a flat ground of pastures,  thrived by a stream-crossing that takes you near the Jagatsukh Nala. From here, the track becomes steep and is stretched over boulders and moraines. We will reach the campsite that is surpassed wonderfully by the towering Mt. Deo Tibba, revealing its appearance for the first time.  Around the campsite, spend the day resting and exploring. You will get enough time to relax and energize yourself for the upcoming challenges that will come ahead while trekking. Overnight stay for all the trekkers will be scheduled in tents

Day 04 is going to be a long day and we will start the day right after having breakfast and packing lunch. Finally, the most-awaited and important day of this trek has come. When compared to the entire journey, day 04 will also give rise to the most difficult day. Keep yourself ready for a thrilling day ahead.  The trail is stretched over residues and is guarded by Deo Tibba. As you trek further, the climb gets steeper, ultimately giving you a way to an attractive alpine lake also known as mini Chandratal. Around the lake, you will find a number of wildflowers that look stunning. The tranquil lake filled with emerald blue water is sure to leave you surprised. We will trek back to base camp and do overnight camping

Get up early in the morning and begin your day enjoying the breathtaking sunrise that will definitely leave you stunned. After having breakfast, we will start to descend back to Chikka and follow the same track that we took before. Don’t forget to carry water bottles along with you. The trek is very easy so don’t worry. Before reaching Chikka, we will have lunch. Night stay for all the trekkers will be scheduled in tents at the beautiful Chikka campsite. At night while having dinner, we will treasure some lovely memories of the trek and then go to sleep

Wake up in the morning and don’t forget to witness the sunrise of the mountains for the last time. The stunning scenery and calmness of the place will surely force you to stay here. Don’t forget to click some sweet photographs which act as a memory when you return from the trip.While returning from Chikka to Manali, you will get some clear views of the Himalayan ranges. In this way, we will mark the end of this trip. In the evening by 6 pm, we will reach Manali. If you wish then you can also explore Manali and some of the famous places here like Hadimba temple, Vashisht temple, Mall road, and several others. Accordingly, the trekkers can get their tickets done to return back to their respective hometowns. This will mark the end of your Deo Tibba base camp trek
