Pin Parvati Trek (Detailed Itinerary)
The adventurous journey for Pin Parvati Pass will start after reaching Manali in the morning. From here, we will leave for Barsheni village which is surrounded by thick pine forest as well as green pastureland.
From here, we will further move to Kalga village which is just a half hour trek from Barshaini. At Manikaran gurudwara, we will stop for having lunch. Hot langar is served at gurudwara that you must try definitely.
After having lunch, we will head towards Barshaini where you need to do a little trekking. Remember your mobile networks will be available only till Kalga and accommodation is scheduled in a guest house.

Remember Pin Parvati pass trek is a very exciting experience where you can have fun and enjoy the breathtaking landscape from close. While trekking, you will go through thick woodland cover and also a sheer ascend of almost 30 minutes.
The climb continues unless you arrive at a point from where you need to take a rational V turn. From here, you have to trek for another 10 minutes to reach the pastureland where Kheerganga is located.
While trekking, you can find several maggie points where you can stop and take some refreshments. The trail is less of a steep ascent and more of a gradual ascent. While trekking, you will go through beautiful forests of Pine, Oak, walnut, and Horse chestnut trees.
Kalga to Kheerganga is a 10km trek that involves a time of 6-7 hours. After you reach Kheerganga, your stay will be scheduled in tents.
Today’s trek will begin for Tunda Bhuj which is a steady climb out. While trekking, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Parvati River coming down from the mountain on your left side. You will go through long meadowland and the lovely chirping of birds will offer you gleaming happiness.
The road from Kheerganga is the very first stream crossing that starts with a continuous ascent for almost 20 minutes. After trekking for some time, you will find the huge area of Parvati valley in front. This is going to be the final overpass that you have to cross in order to reach Tunda-Bhuj nestled at an elevation of 10,500 ft. above sea level. From here, you can enjoy the mesmerizing view of snow-covered mountains.
After having breakfast, we will start the day. If you feel bad about leaving the gorgeous campsite of Tunda Bhuj then don’t worry because the route today is all about mesmerizing views including strewn, meadows and waterfalls.
Day 04 is going to be a little easy day except for the tricky section. As we move towards the end of the tree line, the terrain will get a little rocky. The campsite for today will be on the huge pasture land right next to the humming Parvati river. If we reach before the dark, then you can visit the trolley bridge which is near the campsite. Also, all the trekkers will be served with healthy and delicious dinner.
Day 05 is going to be exciting as you need to cross two bridges in order to reach the next campsite. After a mild gradient, there is a steep rise in the track that will take you to the first bridge. As you descend down to the river, you will come across a huge boulder that has to be crossed to continue on the track.
This massive rock bang in the middle of the ferocious Parvati river is the first bridge that will leave you stunned with its incredible beauty. It is known by the name Pandu Pul 1.
As you trek further from this little river crossing in adventure, you will come across second 20 feet boulder present in the middle of the roaring river, named Pandu Pul 2.
After this queer, get ready to experience the double adventure because now the trail will simmer down and is mainly a straight walk till Odi Thatch. This narrow trail with multiple routes spread in different directions. Make sure you follow the person in front of you so that you do not get lost.
Thatch means pastures and living up to its name, this galactic appearing camp of Odi Thatch is in the middle of gigantic pasture land.
Today is going to be more fun because the trail is going to be uncomplicated with no harsh ascents or descents except the last 300m to the lake. While trekking, you will go through the banks of the pleasant as well as refreshing Parvati River.
Halfway to our destination today, we will get to a place known as Mini Mantalai which is considered the junction for thousands of tiny streams which have made their way to the huge expense from diverse directions.
This wide open land sees the merging of several water bodies, offering a beautiful view. From Mini Mantalai to get the campsite for today, all the trekkers need to get ready for the steep ascent which is close to 300m.
On the other side of the ascent, you will find a glacial lake named Mantalai. For day 06, Mantalai is going to be the campsite that is present on the banks of the lake surrounded by the massive Himalayas.
Day 7 is going to be a hard and long day with a height gain of 800m almost. Since the day is going to be a little bit challenging, all the trekkers need to start the day early. Get ready to experience the beautiful sunrise that is really a treat to your eyes.
We will start the trek when the sun is still hiding behind the high peaks. At the starting, the trail will be a bit muddy which means you need to little attentive during the whole trekking.
After crossing this section, we will start the long and tough ascent of this day. Once you reach the spur, the trail will become easy with gradual ascent unless you hit the moraine section of the climb.
The moraine section is just a kilometer but often takes a long time to cross through. It is a fairly steep climb which is made difficult due to the rocky terrain.
After reaching the campsite, you will forget all your tiredness because we will camp on the edge of the Parvati glacier. On moonlit nights, the glacier offers you a sight that is worth watching.
Today is the day. We will pass the cross today and make our way to beautiful Spiti. Remember Spiti is a completely different world that you must experience at least once in your life. We will start to trek early in the morning as it is going to be a long day.
As the day starts to go up, the ice turns out to be unstable, making it difficult for you to walk on. Before you step into the cold desert of Spiti valley, say good bye to the mesmerizing lush Parvati valley.
Today, all the trekkers have to walk long distances from glaciers. On crossing the glacier, the last trail involves a steep climb of almost 300-400m. this climb will take you directly to the top of the pass, giving a stunning sight of two distinct valleys including the Parvati valley on one side and Pin valley on another side.
Night stay will be scheduled in the camp right under the open sky filled with shining stars.
Early in the morning, we will start our trek. For round 3 km, the trail track descends down sharply. Another 1.5km is going to take you to a river crossing section post.
After trekking for three more kilometers, we will cross the river to reach the other side. Continue walking on this trail only in order to reach the campsite for the day.
The trail today will enter a wide-open valley along with several streams spread around its floor, giving you breathtaking views. While trekking back to Mudh, we will also explore the unique mountain culture and taste Himalayan cuisine.
After reaching Mudh, we will hit back to the road and drive two hours to reach the town of Kaza. This is where your trek will finish. In the late evening, we will reach Kaza.
Kaza is one of the biggest townships and a commercial hub of the Spiti valley. All the trekkers can get their tickets done accordingly from Kaza to their hometown.
In this way, your trekking trip to the wonderful Pin Parvati pass will come to an end with lots of beautiful memories.
