Kareri Lake Trek (Detailed Itinerary)
In order to get ready for an exciting trek, all the trekkers need to report to the Mcleodganj or Dharamshala, then we start drive to Kareri village. On day 01, we will trek for almost 4-5 long hours but in the last, you will find that the entire journey is fruitful and rewarding.
The trail towards Rioti camp goes along the narrow mountainous river that needs to be crossed. While trekking, you will find that some crossings consist of makeshift bridges and others have to be crossed by just walking on riverine boulders.
Night stay is scheduled in a camp that will be surrounded by gorgeous alpine grassland. Hot & Delicious will be served.
The 4 hours of trekking along the mountains is going to take you to the base of Minkiani pass, where the Kareri lake is located. It is the most charming part of your complete trip. First, the trekkers need to walk on a rocky, narrow, and muddy track along with forested mountains and a river gorge on the other side.
Since the region is not too high, you will find beautiful coniferous and deciduous trees on your way to Kareri lake. As you continue your trek for Kareri lake, you will gain height and the vegetation will also turn out to be less dense.
Night stay for all the trekkers will be arranged in camps which are surrounded by pretty meadows. From the campsite, you can also see Minkiani pass and Baleni pass.
Day 03 is going to be long but not really tough because we will descend generally. Wake up early in the morning in order to witness the mesmerizing sunrise of the mountains. After having lunch, we will trek back to Kareri village and drive back to Dharamshala. This will mark the end of your journey with sweet memories.
