Located at an elevation of 14,000ft. and east of the Rohtang Pass, Bhrigu Lake is considered the consecrated lake for Hindus. It is believed that Hindu Rishi Bhrigu used to meditate at this lake. It is a high-altitude alpine lake trek that is nestled in the Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. Among the trekkers, Bhrigu lake is one of the popular Himalayan trekking destinations. In the winters, this lake freezes and you can witness a thin white layer of snow over the entire lake. The Bhrigu lake trek is ideal for both beginners as well as seasoned trekkers. This beautiful trek offers a great dose of nature to people with different kinds of tastes.
While trekking, you will come across striking skyscapes, lush green & dense paddocks, breathtaking sights of snow-covered mountains, and a touch of spirituality. This trek will offer you amazing and natural surprises at every step. In case, you are planning for a short trekking trip that offers you a perfect dose of nature then the Bhrigu lake trek is a one-stop solution. Get ready to bless your eyes with the mesmerizing sights of seven sister peaks while trekking. This beautiful lake is well-known for its impressive beauty because, with each passing season, it changes its color. In the late summer season, you will find the color of this lake to be emerald green. On the other hand, the color of the lake turns blue in the summers, offering an alluring sight to your eyes. Trekking to Bhrigu lake is definitely a lifetime experience as it gives you the chance to walk through the dense oak forest, trek in mild monsoon showers, star gazing at night, cross different varieties of wildflowers, and finally camp in lush pastures. On both sides of Bhrigu lake, you will find an inclined meadow area that looks extremely beautiful. The “Bird’s-eye” scenes of the neighboring valleys like Manali, Solang, and Gulaba are surely a treat to your eyes. Once you approach the plains, the views of snow-covered summits and ranges of Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar are stunning. In order to successfully do the Bhrigu lake trek, all the trekkers require medium-level fitness. As you get closer to the gorgeous Bhrigu lake, you will notice that all your heavy sentiments settle down and a feeling of affection will run in your body. Make sure you sit down and meditate near the lake because this will offer you inner peace. The track of the Bhrigu lake trek rises with heavy ascents for almost 7km on the first day and 6km on the second day without any declines or descents. In a very short time, you will gain significant height. However, it is necessary for the trekkers to have perfect stamina and leg strength to do this trek. Without the right gears, proper practice, and a standard fitness level, it is difficult to do this trek.
