Gaumukh Tapovan Trek (Detailed Itinerary)

(Drive 241 Km/10-11 Hours)

We will start the journey to Gangotri from Dehradun early in the morning. It is going to be a long day because we will be covering 241km. The first major attraction which you will explore is Mussorie then Dhanulti, Chamba, and finally arriving at Uttarkashi. 

We will be reaching Gangotri which is situated on the banks of river Gangotri. You can explore the local market and local culture here.

Get up early in the morning and after having breakfast spend your day in the religious vibes. Now you are almost at 10500 ft height at Gangotri and today will be the day for acclimatization. This is just like a health supplement in which your body will get used to low temperatures and the environment.

(Trek 9km/5-6 hours)

After having breakfast, we will start trekking to Chirbasa where we will be walking along with the pine forests and astonishing Bhagirathi River. We will trek for almost 4 to 5 hours and then have lunch and later enjoy a blissful evening. Spend your night in tents. 

(5km/3-4 hours)

Wakeup and enjoy the splendid views of sunrise and then get ready for the trekking to Bhojbasa. Since the trail will be widened up so you can have startling views of Bhagirathi peaks. After reaching Bhojbasa you will get the breathtaking views of Shivling. The cozy cold night will be spent in tents.

(Trek 10km/6-7 hours)

It is going to be a long and tiring day of trek so make sure that you have lots of excitement inside yourself. The trek to Gomukh is easy and also marks the end of Gangotri glacier. 

You will also explore Tapovan which is famous for meditation. After reaching Khada Pathar, you will stay in tents at night.

Get up early in the morning so that you can have some last views of mountains that are shining in bright sun rays. We will trek to Bhojbasa and stay in tent at night between the mountains.

(Trek 14km/6 hours)

It will be the last day of the trek and we will be reaching back to Gangotri which is a 14km trek. Pack up your bag to return to Dehradun.

We will be having morning breakfast in Gangotri and then driving back to Dehradun which is a 10 to 11 hours drive. Your adventurous trek will come to an end with lots of reminiscences.
